Our journey: The commitment of a family business to the care of the Iberian almond
The beginnings of Almendras Donaire date back to the mid-1950s in the Alhama de Granada region. Our founder, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, began the collection and commercialization of almonds, laying the foundations and roots of our family.
Year after year, our company evolved. That entrepreneurial spirit grew stronger and marked the beginning of the activity we know today. In 1987, we formalized our business with the establishment of Almendras Donaire S.L. It was in that same year that we reached another major milestone in our history: the construction of our first factory in Chimeneas, Granada.
Year after year, we added technology and production capacity to offer a higher quality and more competitive product.
We kept progressing and growing. The new millennium arrived, marking the beginning of our vertical integration. In 2006, we started integrating the entire process vertically: from purchasing almonds from the farmer to processing and packaging for food industry clients. Our commitment to innovation remained in our DNA, and we continued providing new solutions to the market with products such as almond flour, granules, sticks, and almond slices.
The growth continued and allowed us to embark on a new phase. To meet the increasing demand we were experiencing, in 2015 we relocated our facilities to the Escúzar industrial park in Granada, where we are currently based. This ambitious project, divided into three phases, tripled our production capacity and optimized our operations with refrigeration chambers and larger storage areas.

At Almendras Donaire, we give absolute priority to the quality of the almonds we offer to the market. Our commitment to quality at every stage of the process and in every result has been tested and certified by IFS food, an international recognition that guarantees food safety, traceability, and compliance with the highest industry standards. It is one of the added values that many of our clients seek and appreciate.
This commitment also requires us to work with environmentally responsible practices that minimize the impact of our industry. Proof of this is the recognition and certification of organic production issued by CAAE.
Through this journey of our history, we can discover that our values have always been present throughout the years of our activity. The values that characterize the entire Almendras Donaire team can be defined as:
A family business that has expanded and grown over time
Commitment to our suppliers and clients to offer the best solutions
Quality, which we have been certifying over the years
Sustainability, to achieve the best almond processing through the most environmentally careful practices
Innovation, as we believe that there will always be new processes to discover and new solutions to offer. We just need to work and invest in it.
The mission we work toward every day at Almendras Donaire is to offer the highest quality processed Iberian almonds to meet the needs of our clients in the food industry.
We focus our efforts in a coordinated and team-oriented manner. This approach is reflected in our daily work to become leaders in the industrialization of Iberian almonds, strengthening strategic alliances and implementing more sustainable processes.
